My last post about MY Favourite Indians caused some uproar and disappointment in few Indians (very few not to care). But I want to get a point across to those who think they can control what others think and do. So here it is. When I published that post, I didn't expect a negative reaction...well not this ridiculous anyways. Cos that was a happy and totally FUN post. However few people saw it as a 'shallow' and 'disrespectful' post. Seriously, who do some people think they are? This is MY blog, and I write whatever I want. Now I know that whatever I write about is open to discussion and I respect that...but when people cross the limits and demand me to write what THEY want instead of what I want, that's when I draw the line and say PISS OFF! I'm not gonna be polite to those who are rude to me. You get what you give. You try to force your opinions on me, you will be told off by me. BEWARE of the venomous thorns of Keshi! I go to a blog to read someone's post and comment on the post, not to mock their person and question their credibility. Some people have the nerve to do that and it's really appalling! It's a shame on the very thing that they're trying to protect...their origins. This blog world is no different than the real world...people are always pointing fingers at others when a thousand fingers are pointing at themselves.
Indians have played a big part in my life. Though I'm originally Sri Lankan, I have Indian blood from my mother's side (she's a Tamil herself). Sri Lankan Tamils originally came from South India. My father is a Sinhalese, and the Sinhalese are of Indo-Aryan origin. So yeah, roots-wise I have Indian blood in me. But I was born in Sri Lanka and lived in Australia long enough to call it my home . So I'm kind of a cultural fruit-salad and I'm proud of it. Cos that has made me stronger and taught me how to appreciate EVERY nationality, not just MY nationality (unlike some people in my comment section behave!). I'm quite friendly with people from around the world and I respect a person for his/her individuality, not skin color. So when I choose to write about my fav Indians, it's entirely upto me to write MY favs...meaning Indians who I know about, who I like, who I have been influenced by etc. Now if I were to write about EVERY great Indian there ever was, I'd have to create 100 blogs to do that! Besides I havent lived in India and I don't read The Indian Express to know about every single Indian who's influencing YOUR life...I read the Sydney Morning Herald btw! This was just one simple post about the immediate Indians that came to my mind and bang, there was a huge war declared by some very opinionated people! WHY? Cos some people are always waiting to mess around with others...take their frustrations on others...frikkin force their opinions on others. And why again? Cos they have no respect for INDIVIDUALITY. This is the one big reason behind ALL wars in this world today. People don't wanna look beyond themselves, try and understand that people are individuals and have various likes and dislikes, that different people come from different backgrounds, that each person's opinions have been shaped by what they have experienced in their own lives, that beliefs and perceptions are never going to be the exact same between 2 people. I.O.W. some people are incapable of 'seeing' and 'respecting' others for their Individuality, they are plain SELFISH that all they ever think of is THEMSELVES and THEIR opinion. It's a total weakness and I think it's the worst quality one can have. Indian or English, Gay or straight, Tongue-pierced or unpierced, Actress or IT Consultant, Gandhi or SriDevi, Young or old, Tall or short, Round or square, Shallow or deep, God or human....whatever it is, the most beautiful thing about each and everyone of us is our Individuality. Imagine all of us dressed the same, walked the same, worked in the same field, thought the same, valued the same things etc etc...just imagine how dull this world would be then! So be proud of your individuality...don't let few arrogant people change who you are.
